Everyone seems to be in such a hurry to scream ‘racism’ these days.

A customer asked, “In what aisle could I find the Polish sausage?”

The clerk asks, “Are you Polish?”

The guy, clearly offended, says, “Yes I am. But let me ask you something.
If I had asked for Italian sausage, would you ask me if I was Italian?
Or if I had asked for German Bratwurst, would you ask me if I was German?
Or if I asked for a kosher hot dog would you ask me if I was Jewish?
Or if I had asked for a Taco, would you ask if I was Mexican?
Or if I asked for some Irish whiskey, would you ask if I was Irish?”

The clerk says, “No, I probably wouldn’t.”

The guy says, “Well then, because I asked for Polish sausage, why did you ask me if I’m Polish?”

The clerk replied, “Because you’re in Home Depot.”

Am I Polish? When I was about 15 years old I told my mother that I was a citizen of our beautiful WORLD. She got quite mad with me and told me I did not know what I was saying. In other words, that I was stupid. Am I Polish? I guess I am because my parents were born in Poland. This is as far as it goes – And yet, I taught myself to read, write and speak in Polish. The ‘speaking’ came with the territory – I never knew why I actually wanted to do this … for my mother … I guess.
I really don’t know why anybody would be offended when asked if he was Polish, Russian, German. whoever.I know that racism exists all over the world. So what can we do about it? Absolutely nothing much. You know who you are, so why to get so offended when you are asked by somebody where you came from?
What I don’t appreciate is when people mispronounce my surname and say Chili – etc., like ‘chili con carne’ – silly me, behaving like a spoiled child – but then, I have no time for NINCOMPOOPS … who can’t read and are not even trying –
By the way, do you like Polish sausage? If you don’t, I don’t blame you, the only good sausage is Polish made – and these are few and far between.

    It was very intersting …

    Take care, Jay.

P.S. Very funny joke – I’ll tell it to everybody who will listen – going through all the different nationalities:-

~ or if I asked for some Irish whiskey, would you ask if I was Irish? ~

Maybe I’ll have a chance to find out?!?

  3. Old but good joke. Some may find it offensive, since it comes from the “fill the blank” racial joke family.

On the Polish Sausage subject; the one you will find in the grocery stores will make a dog sick, if one dares to feed their pet with it 🙂

  4. Great Joke. I remember back in high school regarding a similar joke. How the polish invented the solar powered flashlight.
